FAQ

Note: this is a work in progress.

How do I sell or salvage?
-Progress in the story. You generally get the ability to sell or salvage around level 8-10

I need credits, should I sell my spare gear or crystals?
-No, never ever sell gear or crystals. Crystals are vital for upgrading gear. On top of drops from missions and crew missions, you also get crystals from salvaging gear.

Are there lightsabers?
-No, the story in the game is somewhere between Return of the Jedi and The Force awakens. The only known Jedi at this time is pretty much Luke Skywalker. The rest are likely dead or in hiding. This also means that you can't be a Jedi or a Sith.

But <insert expanded universe character> is a Jedi and alive
The expanded universe is not considered canon, while this game is officially canon.

How do I invite people for co-op?
-First, select the mission you want to run and then press the + sign in the lower left corner of the screen and pick a player to invite. Note however that you cannot run story, daily credit or opportunity missions in co-op.

I'm not happy with my current Cartel, how do I leave it?
-Press the influence icon just below the map icon in the top right. Press the fist icon in the lower right and finally press your own name and leave.

What's the level cap?
-Currently it's 40. But apparently it will be increased to 100 at some point according to Daniel Erickson (Senior Director of Design at Kabam).

How do I pick a class?
-You don't actually. You are free to pick whatever abilities you want from different trainers. More trainers unlock as the story progresses.

How do I get the tokens in order to upgrade my abilities
Bronze Faction tokens are gained by ranking up in a faction or from faction currency crew missions. You can only get silver faction tokens once a month if you qualify in the faction leaderboards at the moment. There is currently no known way to gain Platinum tokens.

How do I raise my player rating?
-You can raise your player rating through several different means. 1. Level (note that requirements for scaling missions also rise with level). 2. Gear. 3. Playing co-op (temporary while in the mission lobby with other people)

I received a crewmember, how do I use it?
Once you reach a certain story mission, a new feature called Crew missions will unlock. Crewmembers are used for running crew missions and can be upgraded once it reaches maximum level for that tier. You level crew by using them in crew missions. Past tier 2 crew require blueprints to upgrade.

What are blueprints and what do I use them for?
-Blueprints are required for leveling up crew past tier 2. You get blueprints for maxing full sets of gear in the armory. Note that weapon blueprints are only needed for upgrading high-tier crew. Once you receive a blueprints, it’s permanent and is therefor not consumed upon upgrading crew.

What is the armory and how does it work?
-Once you progress far enough in the story, a new feature called The armory will unlock. Once you find a new piece of gear, crew or weapon it will become visible in the armory and you will get a scrip and a few credits (the first time, per account). When a piece of gear, crew or weapon has reached it’s maximum level for it’s tier, you will receive 15 chromium (the first time, per account) and the item will stay in the armory even if you salvage or sell it. By completing full sets of gear or weapons, you will also receive a blueprint

What are factions and how do they work?
-Factions are basically the people you work for in the story missions.. More factions unlock as you progress in the story. While you cannot side with any one faction directly, you do get opportunity and crew missions from them occasionally.

I need x crystal in order to upgrade my gear/crew. Where do I find it?
You can find crystals in several different ways. First of all, you can salvage gear or weapons.
You always get one crystal of the same tier as the item you salvage. What crystals you can get from salvage depends on the item you salvage.

Some crystals can drop from assault or story missions, while others are more rare.

Occasionally you get opportunity missions or crew missions that can award you with crystals.
